How to choose the right service

Start with the recipient’s written list. Most requests fall into one of three patterns, and each points to a different product.

• “Certificate of good standing” or “proof the company is active”. Order the Certificate of Good Standing. This is the Companies House company certificate confirming the company is registered and, where the register supports it, that it is not in default or being struck off. Choose standard (£79 ex VAT) if you have a couple of weeks, and express (£129 ex VAT) if the deadline is close.
• “Certificate of incorporation” or “constitutional documents”. Order the certified Certificate of Incorporation and, if asked, the certified articles of association (£49 each ex VAT). Banks and counterparties often ask for these alongside a good standing certificate.
• A longer list covering officers, shareholders and history. The company documents pack bundles the usual set into one order, so the documents arrive together and match each other.

If filings may be overdue, order the £15 filings check first. A company that is late with its accounts or confirmation statement may not get the certificate wording a recipient expects, and it is better to know before paying for the certificate.

What happens after you order

We place the application with Companies House, pay the official fee and track the order. Standard Companies House dispatch aims for within about 10 working days. Express certificates follow Companies House’s before-11am same-working-day rules where offered. When the paper reaches us, we typically scan it and send it on by tracked post or courier within 1–3 working days, and we email you a scan in the meantime so you can check the details.

When you also need an apostille or embassy legalisation

Countries in the Hague Apostille Convention usually accept a UK document with an FCDO apostille. Others need an additional embassy or consular stage. This work is quote-only on UKCOGS because its timing and cost depend on the FCDO, couriers and, for embassies, the foreign mission. Ask the recipient whether they need paper or will accept an e-Apostille, then request a quote. We confirm fulfilment before you pay anything for legalisation.

All UKCOGS prices are shown ex VAT. The official Companies House fee (£22 standard, £65 express) is shown separately on each product card so you can see our service fee. FCDO fees (£45 paper apostille, £35 e-Apostille) apply only if you go on to legalisation and are confirmed on GOV.UK at the time of quoting.
